Maps: Deposition of sulphur and nitrogen 1978 - 2006

Deposists of sulphur in Norway have declined as emissions in Europe have been reduced. Total deposits of sulphur in Norway were reduced from about 200 000 tonnes in 1980 to 33 000 tonnes in 2008. This is a reduction of more than 80 per cent.

The maps below show the reductions in deposition of sulphur in Norway from 1978 to 2006.
