Releases and use of substances that pose a serious threat to health or the environment will be continuously reduced with a view to eliminating them by 2020.

Stop pollution from contaminated soil
The dispersal of substances that are persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic, and of other substances that give rise to an equivalent level of concern, from contaminated soil will be stopped or substantially reduced. Steps to reduce the dispersal of other substances that may cause injury to health or environmental damage will be taken on the basis of case-by-case risk assessments.
