Are we moving in the right direction?

Lichen resources in Finnmark county are in very poor condition. During the past 10 years, reindeer numbers have been reduced to some extent, but not sufficiently. The decline in lichen cover as a result of overgrazing and subsequent erosion is one of the main ecosystem changes occurring in Norway today.
